At the 44th Annual Mount Dora Bicycle Festival & Gran Fondo, Florida’s ONLY 4-day Premier Cycling Social, you can choose from 16 fully supported routes, with NEW optional Gran Fondo* challenges on Friday & Saturday. Register by July 31, 2018 and receive $20 in Bicycle Bucks at check in to be redeemed at participating local merchants. This year’s custom, Limited Edition Festival Jersey is designed by local artist Bev Neal of Painting Outside the Lines Gallery. It’s Awesome! You’ll also receive a Finisher’s Medal commemorating your festival weekend accomplishments! Oh, and did we mention that, by popular request, we are including both Breakfast AND Lunch this year on Friday, Saturday & Sunday? Yes! It’s true!
The festival weekend begins Thursday afternoon with our “Think Pink” Social Ride for Breast Cancer awareness. This will be a 20-mile ride through the scenic, historic areas of Eustis and Mount Dora including a ride past the new cancer treatment wing of Florida Hospital Waterman. A portion of the festival proceeds will be donated to help in the fight against breast cancer.
On Friday evening, join us in Sunset Park for an exciting “Reunion Party” with your cycling family and enjoy live music from one of Mount Dora’s popular local bands. Libations will be flowing and our restaurants will be featuring award winning cuisine and top notch service!
*On Friday & Saturday mornings, in addition to other route choices, we are excited to bring you Florida’s ONLY 2-day GRAN FONDO option on either the Back to Back CENTURY Challenge OR the NEW Back to Back METRIC Challenge! Both of these B2B rides are a part of this year’s NEW Gran Fondo element. ALL registered B2B cyclists will have two chances in each ride to test themselves in timed segments. Each day there will be prizes given for the fastest times through the timed segments only AND the man and woman rider with the best overall combined time for either the B2B Century Challenge or the B2B Metric Challenge will be awarded Gran Fondo “King” and “Queen”! Specially designed B2B medals will be awarded to the first 100 cyclists who register for & accomplish both days of either of these exciting B2B Challenges!
Sunday’s rides are your chance to continue the fun with old and new friends. The festival wraps up at 2pm with lots of well wishes for continued safe cycling to everyone!
